Monday April 17 – I need to make a brief update on the upcoming season since the meeting held on March 27.
Due to continuing health issues, as of this past Thursday, April 13, I informed the Fair board that I would be reluctantly stepping away from promoting the weekly Sunday night races at Seymour Raceway Park.
As of right now, the practice scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 18, will not take place.
We are working diligently to find someone to take over the operation as soon as possible. An announcement was going to be made jointly by the Fair Board and I, when there was more of a clear plan. But, due to some comments over the past couple days, I decided to make this on my own at this time.
I just wish that those that think they are experts in everything, and really don’t know anything, would learn to keep their yaps shut.
This has been a very difficult decision and the fair board understands the reasons, and defiantly wants the track operating in 2017. They have been very supportive.
Finances played a part as well. But, as of this morning, Monday April 17, all of the bills from last year are paid in full. I personally delivered the payments to these people and cannot THANK them enough for their understanding during this process.
There are still a few drivers that have checks coming and I will get them to you shortly.
Again, THANKS to the Tim and Carl from the fair board, Tom, Bobby, Bonnie and Jon, and all of the staff, the drivers, crews and fans that have supported this effort.
There will be more information passed along as fast as possible.
Thank You
